Lorenzo Lamas was born on 20th January 1958 in the USA (Santa Monica, Los Angeles).
It is well known that the blood circulating in his veins is after his Norwegian-Argentine parents. He grew up till his ten years
with his father, the famous Argentine actor
Fernando Lamas (he played in the
western "One hundred rifles" with Raquel Welch).
His mother is
Arlene Dahl who worked at that time
as a fashionable consultant of the Sears Roebuck & Company in New
York. Lorenzo was 2 years old when his mother, life ex-partner of the famous protagonist of Old Shatterhand Lex Barker,
got divorced with her husband.
And how does the popular action hero remember his childhood ?
"My childhood wasn´t always easy-going and happy. We moved very often so I didn´t have any other choice then to leave
my old friends and make new ones. I changed five schools during eight years. There were every moment some changes in
my life and that's why I was reserved in my emotions but always ready to enjoy my life. When I look at it today, it was
actually very good preparation for my career as an actor. I don't know a lot about my forefathers from my mother's side.
In addition I've never been in Norway. My father came from Argentina before he got to Hollywood. When we were working
on an advertisement for the serial "Renegade" in Buenos Aires, I was pleased to see so many people interested not only in
our project but also in me. It was, of course, mainly thanks to my father's fame. It was a nice feeling in spite of crowds of
passionate Argentines."
Lorenzo Lamas moved to New York in 1968. At the age of 12 as a very hard manageable child was Lorenzo sent to the
Admiral Farragut Academy in New York where the military discipline was supposed to improve his bad behaviour.
"I raged but I also learnt not to give up. All lessons can be useful."
After the military drill he returned to Los Angeles in hope to gain the diploma of veteran. He entered with his father's blessing
to the dramatic course Film Actor's Workshop led by Tony Barr and thanks to this began to appear for the first time
on TV in small roles in 1976 (the serial "Switch", he played in two parts of the comedy "Dear John") and also
in front of cine-camera (the musical "Grease"). Lamas says about this period:
"For a guy like me who began with acting six months ago, it was like my dream came true".
At the same time he began to go for combatant techniques (especially karate and taekwondo) which he got to know at the
formerly mentioned military school at the age of 15. He continued with a systematic training five years later when he got to a
secret of Korean taekwondo under a strict supervision of master Jan Chong. After a small pause in the world of automobile
sport he returned to dojo and became a holder of black bands in taekwondo, kempo and ju-jitsu under a supervision
of AL Thomas.
"Fifteen years of training gave me a lot. It was a perfect way to gain a symbiosis of the spirit and body. The combatant
techniques are a cause of my harmony and balance. Eastern philosophy is my lifestyle. My interpretation of eastern
philosophy is: instead of a rash reaction count to three and look in man's eyes before you collide. Try to see in him mainly
good things, which every man has got inside. Try to understand him before you react on his moods and emotions. People are
the most precious thing in the world. "
His first wife was Victoria Hilbert in 1981 and two years later followed their divorce.
The cinematic career of Lorenzo Lamas started at the beginning of 80´s (1981) as a playboy Lance Curnson in the
serial "Falcon Crest".
"I grew up in this serial. I learnt how to work in front of a cine-camera and even if I made a lot of mistakes before million
of spectators, I was forgiven."
He met a press speaker Michelle Smith in this serial (26 years old at that time) and later married her. They had two children
during their short marriage (1983-1985) - the son Alvaro Joshua born in December 1983 and the daughter Shayne born in
November 1985. A cause of their divorce was obviously another star of the serial Falcon Crest Daphne Ashbrook who
accused Lamas of being a father of her daughter that appeared to be the truth (the daughter Peyton Lee).
Lorenzo Lamas tried to "find himself" for a long time and one of his living experience helped him during his search:
"I survived a very nasty accident in 1983. I was 25 and had two years old son. I realized for the first time what actually
means to have a responsibility. I awoke and experienced something like a breaking point. Maybe it sounds strange but since
that time I had a feeling, that more important is what a man leave after himself than what he has during his life. When you pass
away, everything remains your children, family. So it is better to strive for good things to leave them to your family..."
Abby Dalton, his college from the TV serial "Falcon Crest", introduced him to his 17 years old daughter Kathleen Kinmont
at that time. A few years later, exactly on 25th January 1985, Lamas married her. Their wedding took place
at the renowned chapel of Elvis in Las Vegas.
In 1984 he played in the movie "Bodie Rock" which was about a group of young people living by dance and music.
A real acting career of Lorenzo Lamas began in 1988 under a leadership of a director George Erschbamer in the action
movie "Snake Eater".
Lamas played here an ex-member of an elite Marine Corps, an independent harsh policeman
Jack Kelly called "Soldier" who defends honour and law in police ranks. This movie was surprisingly very successful so that
one year later there was another part with a title "Snake Eater 2 - The Drug buster" and in 1991 the third part with
a title "Snake Eater 3 - His Law". Both of latterly mentioned movies in American production. Another strike home
was a cheap movie "Final Impact" that was also unexpectedly successful in Western Europe. Kathleen Kinmont, an
actress, instructor and Lamas's third wife, appeared in this movie and also in other movies.
In 1992 Lorenzo Lamas returned on television screens thanks to the serial "Renegade" where he played an
young ambitious policeman-roundsman accused of a murder. As he is innocent, he is hiding in the underworld fighting
against injustice and evil. A role fits him perfectly, the makers linked effectively together his talent, acting discipline,
combatant techniques and skills to drive his two-wheel petrol "horse".
"I began with motorbikes when I was 12. I remember my pictures of the newest Hondas 50 leaving under my mother's door.
A motorbike was on every shopping list. When I pushed my mother, she said:, Lorenzo, if you have a good marks and
behaviour, you will get a motorbike'. I really got it two years later and rode it along my room in the night. It was an
ineffably wonderful feeling."
Lorenzo Lamas with Kathleen Kinmont worked together besides "Renegade" on several movies, e.g.
"CIA: Code Name Alexa" and "CIA II: Target Alexa", "Final Round", "Final Impact",
"Night of the Warrior" or "Snake Eater II". In spite of a failure of his marriage with Kathleen Kinmont in
1993, they continued together in shooting "Renegade".
The episode with the title "Elsewhere and at another time" where they played just married couple on the
honeymoon (Reno and Cheyenne) was very popular and famous. The reason was they had been divorced a short time
ago. Lamas said to this (apart of other things): "It was delicate".
An internet magazine that is interested in life in Hollywood MR. SHOWBIZ published on this topic an article with a
clear title: "Lorenzo Lamas on television-sex with his ex".
So it was going like that to the 4. shoot season (1995) when Kathleen left this serial because of Lorenzo's interest in an
actress, model and former Playboygirl Shauna Sand who later played in some episodes of "Renegade".
Lorenzo Lamas married Shauna on 27th April 1996. The wedding
took part in his mother's house. Lorenzo said to journalists on the wedding day:
"This is the last wedding in my life". They have today three
children-the daughter Alexandra Lynn who was born on 22nd November 1997, the daughter Victoria who
was born in 1999 and Isabella who was born on 2nd February 2001. Lorenzo became the father already for
the sixth time.
The period from 1992 to 1997 was the most successful in the career of Lorenzo Lamas. He shot not only formerly
mentioned "Renegade" but also international hits "Bounty Tracker", "The Midnight Man",
"Mask of Death" or "CIA: Code Name Alexa". But also another dream came true-to direct. His debut in
this field presents "CIA II: Target Alexa" from 1994.
A question that occurs by his high assignment is if he has enough time to keep his physical condition.
"I exercise two hours daily three times a week. I eat only food with high percentage of proteins and don't eat fat food at all.
I try to have a rest in my free time because I have enough movement during my shooting."
Lorenzo is also famous for his tattoos - there are four tattoos on his body. Three of them are on the upper part of his body and
the fourth one on his ankle. Each of them has own sense. Lamas adds to this:
"I had the last one made because of my fiancée…we have the same Thai tattoo that is a symbol of our love. Probably the
most extraordinary tattoo is the fabulous horse Pegas on my back. "
Lorenzo Lamas also commented in one interview his long hair:
"When I was young, I left my hair long. When I went home and my father saw me, I guessed he would rather shoot me.
So I had my hair cut."
Lorenzo Lamas is not only a successful and popular actor and a sparkling star of action movies but also a keen protector of
handicapped children. His voluntary organization "Lorenzo Lamas Ride For Life" looks after financial means for
transplantations of important organs especially for children from the Third world.
Although he has still less time for resting, he seems to be happy. Maybe because he learnt to respect people around him
and stayed by himself.
"I realize a job in the cinematic industry depends on relationships between people. They can help you or destroy your
career. I also know how important is discipline - if you respect it, you will get other opportunities in some sense. In my
case other chances for self-realization."

Lorenzo Lamas divorced...
Monday 9th December 2002
Lorenzo Lamas and his wife Shauna Sand, have separated after six years of marriage.
"Shauna and I are separated due to problems of incompatibility", Lamas said in a statement.
"We are mutual
respect for each other and are seeking the best advice in order to ensure that our children are protected
and loved".
His spokeswoman said it was too soon to say whether the couple, who live in Los Angeles, planned to file for divorce,
or what will happen to their three young daughters Alexandra (4 years), Victoria (3 years) and Isabella (1 year).
Lorenzo also has three teen-age children from two previous marriages.
Wednesday 11th December 2002
Lorenzo and his wife was subdued about his marriage troubles in Los Angeles Court. Lamas and his attorney Cary Goldstein
met with Sand and her lawyer in closed chambers.
Lamas claims that when he announced he wanted a divorce, the 31-year-old Sand melted down and began
"acting out violently". When he and daughter Alexandra tried to leave their house,
"Shauna began beating me with her fists, hitting me on my back and arms", he says in
court papers, adding that he "never struck her back". The actor also alleges Sand
knocked down Alexandra and hurt the girl's arm.
Sand responds in her own court filing that Lamas told her he had "no feelings" for their second child, Victoria, and that Lamas
struck the three-year-old on a "weekly basis" and "made fun of Victoria's lisp."
Then she says: "It is a complete nonsense. I've never hit him or our children. Lorenzo is 186 cm tall,
his weight is more than 80 kilos and he's got a black band in karate. There is no way how could I defeat him. He claims this
because he wants our children to be under his guardianship", Shauna says.
Sand contends, Lamas wanted her to become either a male escort or a stripper to bring in money.
"I could allegedly earn 30 thousand dollars a month, he said to me. But I answered I didn't care
how much I would earn and that I wasn't going to do that. He said that to me in a court of a real estate where we came to
sell our house. I thought we were going to move but he said to me that he wanted divorce".
The beauty broke down when she heard his husband's words, "I was crying every day. I was
shaking and couldn't swallow down".
Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner James B. Endman sided with Lamas and granted the restraining order, barring
Sand from coming within 50 yards from Lamas.
"This is just an interim order", Lamas' attorney, Cary Goldstein, says.
"Lorenzo would
like to be with his children in a safe stable environment, and wants to do what he believes is best for the children".
In his complaint, Lamas also asked for temporary custody of the children or that Sand's visits be supervised.
For now, the kids remain at home with their mother, who claims to be stunned by the demise of her marriage. Sand told that
Lamas come home Friday 6th, told her he´d been cheating on her for a year, and had closed her
bank accounts and ripped up their credit cards.
Goldstein responds: "That´s far from the truth. There´ s no way that Lorenzo would ever consider starving
out Shauna. Anyone who knows Lorenzo knows he´s as honorable as the day is long. Shauna has been extremely well
provided for and continues to have access to substantial sums of money".

December 2002
Lorenzo Lamas has allegedly changed the color of his hair to blond to become disgusting for Shauna Sand. Shauna hates
bleached men: "I would leave this eccentricity to members of the homosexual community",
she said.
But Lorenzo likes his new image and believes that Shauna will hate him. She does her best to gain Lorenzo who sued for a
divorce back and sometimes has the paroxysm of tenderness. "She lurks for him in front of his
house and sometimes brings money for him", claims one of his friends.

Lorenzo Lamas breaks up with Barbara Moore
(July 2005)
Last year Lorenzo lived like in a beatiful dream. He falled in love with a former Playboygirl, Barbara Moore (36), and last year in July they
celebrated their engagement.
"Lorenzo and Barbara were inseparable. They were still together, holding hands, passionately kissing. Lorenzo even cut down shooting, in order to spend
more time with his bride-to-be. And now such a smack in the eye! Lorenzo is mentally out of his resources," said one of Lorenzo´s friends.
What happened? Barbara, following the old habit, organized a big party "celebrating" loss of her freedom. She invited all her female friends to one club.
One hired stripper was supposed to support the party. A fully-fashioned bodybuilder fascinated Barbara so much, that she started to dance with him.
This sex dance almost ended by regular coitus. At that moment Lorenzo crashed into the room and saw everything! The engaged couple had a terrible quarrel,
there were given few slaps too.
Lorenzo said to his bride-to-be, he did not want to see her anymore and outraged Barbara left in the morning together with "her" stripper. An actor´s agent
confirmed the breakup: "Yes, Lorenzo and Barbara go on their own ways now."
Lorenzo Lamas, who was already four times married and thought he had finally found the women he wanted to spend the rest of his life with, must keep searching...
